Recently, I read an article about a voice actor who has been doing his job for over 30 years! He’s voiced characters in several animated movies, shows, and video games. Currently, he is the voice of Winnie the Pooh and Tigger. However, it wasn’t his impressive list of credentials that I found amazing. Instead, it was the fact that I learned from this article that during the voicing of The Lion King, the actor who originally voiced the character named Scar developed vocal problems during the recording of “Be Prepared,” so another actor stepped in.
The article challenged me to listen to the song and catch the change in the vocals. Challenge accepted! I listened to the song and, sure enough, if you are paying attention you can hear the slightest of differences in the singing styles during the last third of the song. Needless to say, I was impressed! To mimic another’s work almost perfectly is something that a professional voice actor has to do on a regular basis.
It got me thinking about the many talents that we have here in the Voice department. Our team of professionals, including copywriters, productions engineers, and consultants, has so much to offer to our clients. Often I see our talents used only for basic recording styles, which is great as it is the most common need of our clients, but I also know there is so much more they can do. In fact, one of our team members really loves to do cartoon-like voices and is, therefore, frequently used in recordings needing an upbeat male. Mood’s Voice department is really a one-stop-shop for all of your voicing needs!
Will you then accept my challenge? How creative can you be with your request? What do you think our team of professionals can do for you?
We would love to hear your thoughts on the subject. Leave a comment with your favorite voice actor or unforgettable cartoon character. Hearing about voice talents doing great work gets us really excited!

I listened, I can’t tell. Guy’s a pro.
Great Blog TJ! I always enjoy hearing Patrick Warburton’s voice pop up in things! Especially as Kronk in Emperor’s New Groove!
