The subject of covers has come up a few times in previous features (see here and here) of The Goods, but Billboard’s Candid Covers is different because it allows artists the opportunity to cover an artist or song that inspired them to play music. Basically, it’s an homage to their musical heroes.

Singer/songwriter Tristan Prettyman did a beautiful cover of Oasis’ “Wonderwall”, a song that mesmerized her when she was young.

Ed Sheeran performs the first song he ever played on guitar, Bob Dylan’s “Don’t Think Twice, It’s Alright.”

North Carolina’s Delta Rae chose Fleetwood Mac’s “The Chain” from the first album singer Brittany Hölljes owned.

Inspired by Billy Joel, Jon McLaughlin tickled the ivories to the tune of “Piano Man.” See more from his performance at Billboard.com.
