Mood’s SXSW Party is less than a week away and we’re spotlighting our final band, Body Language. This Brooklyn band spawned from the remixes that Grant Wheeler and Matt Young would spin at weekly dance parties. After adding in Angelica Bess and Ian Chang, Body Language found the perfect combinations of voices, synths, percussion, and (of course) glockenspiel.
The band’s latest release, Grammar EP, streamlines their “restless pop experiments with a future-shocked blend of soul and R&B.” The album is available now from OM’s Lavish Habits imprint and features the single “Lose My Head.”
The members of Body Language also like to share their talents with others, working with artists such as Passion Pit, Theophilus London, Matthew Dear, Machinedrum, Fur, and more. And they’ve shared the stage with everyone from Janelle Monae to Toro y Moi to Matt & Kim and beyond.
We can’t wait for Body Language to end our SXSW Party with a ton of energy. It’s going to be a good one, so don’t forget to RSVP!
