Today marks the 20th anniversary of the Nirvana’s famous unplugged performance at Sony Studios in New York City. If you didn’t feel old before, think about that for a minute. I can’t believe it’s been 20 years. Filmed a mere five months before his death, this was one of Kurt Cobain’s last televised performances ever…and arguably one of his best.
This performance was released as an album a year later, entitled MTV Unplugged In New York, and it went on to eventually win a Grammy for “Best Alternative Musical Performance.” This particular episode of “MTV Unplugged” was my favorite one of them all…with honorable mentions going to Eric Clapton and Alice In Chains. What is your favorite?
