Last week, Austin was abuzz with music during the annual South by Southwest (SXSW) conference and festival. While many of our employees were out and about taking in panels and showcases, the majority of our team could be found a little south of downtown at our Austin headquarters working to support our clients around the world.

Great Good Fine Ok

Luckily, they were able to get a taste of the music festival with a mid-week performance from Brooklyn’s Great Good Fine Ok. Despite their own busy SXSW schedule, the band stopped by to showcase their songs for our Music Designers and all of our music-loving employees. It was the first performance in our new office and, now that we’re finally under one roof, it was the first time in many years that our entire Austin team was able to gather together to enjoy up-and-coming musicians.

Known for their energetic live performances (demonstrated by the video above), it was a rare treat for us to hear Great Good Fine Ok’s songs in such a stripped down fashion. Despite the lack of a full-blown dance party, their set left us impressed. It takes true talent to be able make that kind of an impact in such an intimate space. You can watch a clip on our Instagram to see how well their songs translated to the setting.

Great Good Fine Ok started their three-song set with a gorgeous rendition of “Always” from their 2017 release III. The stripped down arrangement was the perfect way to showcase Jon Sandler’s stunning falsetto. Then, they shared an unreleased song called “Changes.” We loved the acoustic version and can’t wait to hear the fully produced recording. The performance ended with their latest single, “Find Yourself.” They commented that the song came out over six months ago, which was the longest they’d gone without releasing a new single. Needless to say, new music is coming soon!

After Great Good Fine Ok finished chatting with our employees (consisting of both longtime and brand new fans), we informed the guys that they’d picked a good day to pay us a visit. Since it was March 14th, our office was celebrating Pi Day with a selection of (you guessed it) pies. Slices in hand, they took an opportunity to recharge before gearing up to play two more shows that evening.

Great Good Fine Ok are getting ready to head out on their Spring is Sprung tour with Smallpools, and will be back in Austin on May 29, 2018 for a show at Stubb’s Jr. You can purchase tickets HERE, and we bet you’ll see quite a few of our employees there!
