Last month, on November 9th, the world celebrated the American astronomer, astrophysicist, cosmologist, author and general Master Wizard of Science – Carl Sagan. Why? Because November 9th would be his birthday, and space is, you know, really cool.

We’ve gathered a few songs about space in his honor – and hopefully they’re all scientifically accurate so the ghost of Carl Sagan does not haunt our internet hallways forever.

Hüsker Dü– “Books About UFOs”

Brian Eno – “Weightless (For All Mankind)”

Klaatu – “Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft”

This is NOT a Carpenter’s original! The more you know…

And the song I try to include on every list ever – “Space Truckin’” by Deep Purple
