I love the month of October. The leaves are changing, the weather is cooling down, and Halloween is right around the corner! While I still don’t know what I’m going to dress up as this year, there always seem to be plenty of musicians who don’t have that problem. So in the spirit of the season, here are 10 of my favorite costumed musical acts of all time! (Sidenote: I did not forget about KISS…I just don’t like them very much.)
Slipknot – Fast approaching the twenty year mark, this Iowa band is still harder than ever.
Insane Clown Posse – Because of magnets…how do they work?
Buckethead – Underneath that empty chicken bucket is one of the most talented and prolific guitarists alive today.
Ghost B.C. – Papa Emiritus and The Nameless ghouls…all the way from Sweden.
Alice Cooper – …is now apparently a scratch golfer.
Bob Log III – The masked one man band of bluesy punk.

Darkthrone – …or Gorgoroth, or Mayhem, or any other Norwegian black metal band for that matter.
Man or Astro-man? – …all the way from Mars.
Gwar – R.I.P. Flattus Maximus
Chris Gaines – This is probably the most disturbing one of all. There are no words. It’s just good because the idea was so very bad. Music’s version of The Room.
Well there you have it – my favorite costumed bands of all time. What are some of yours?
