It may have been a Monday night, 90 degrees and humid inside, but that didn’t stop the sold out crowd at House of Blues San Diego from dancing and singing along with electro-alt-pop rockers (or whatever descriptors the kids are using these days), Bastille.

Bastille

The London-based group, which formed just three years ago, played almost every track from their latest release, Bad Blood, which sounded just as good, if not better, than the recorded versions that have been repeating over my speakers for the past few months.

Front-man, Dan Smith, kept the energy of the room flowing, even while crooning a few slower tracks like “Overjoyed” and “Oblivion.” He kept the audience completely engaged; the hour-long, no-frills, set flying by. Bastille ended the night with their radio-friendly song, and one of my favorites, “Pompeii.”
