2014 has arrived, a whole new year of optimism for wonderful things to come.

One of my hopefuls for 2014 is a duo by the name of A Great Big World.

Ian Axel and Chad Vaccarino make up the group from New York and their new album , Is There Anybody Out There?, is stacked full of great whimsical harmonies and upbeat melodies.

You may already be familiar with their hit single last year, “This Is The New Year”, which was performed by New Directions on the twelfth episode, season 4 of GLEE. They also have an international chart hit performed with Christina Aguilera, “Say Something”, a moving power ballad you can catch on Mood’s Y2K Hits. The group has also completed national tours opening for Five For Fighting, Matthew Morrison, and Ingrid Michaelson

With such powerful, compelling lyrics and youthful appeal, one should expect more from this dynamic duo this year. Perfect for the teen and college demographic.
